Program Description

Event Details

The Decatur Public Library is turning 150 and we want to celebrate with our community!

We invite everyone to stop by and enjoy LIVE music and FREE activities with us and many of our community partners, including Scovill's Mobile, the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois, the Children's Museum of Illinois, the Decatur Area Arts Council, and more. There will be crafts, bubbles, caricatures, and bounce houses.
Grab a bite to eat from a local food truck or make plans to visit a downtown restaurant.

*Please note that these festivities will be held outside in the library's greenspace and parking lot, to accommodate all the fun. The parking garage to the south will be open and does not require permits on Saturdays. Additionally, the library will be closed to allow staff time to assist in the activities and celebrate with everyone.

Thank you to all of our community sponsors and partners for their support, including the Friends of the Library, the Decatur Public Library Foundation, the Andreas Foundation, Primient, Decatur Brew Works, Scovill Zoo, the Children's Museum of Illinois, the Decatur Area Arts Council, Girl Scouts of Central Illinois, Fleet Feet, It's Race Time, Thinkwell and our community. This event and all the special anniversary programming this year would not be possible with your support.
