DPL is excited to host bestselling author Ellen Hopkins, as a part of our 150th Anniversary celebrations!
Ms. Hopkins will speak about her writing process, the challenges of taboo topics, and censorship. Followed by a Q&A session and book signing.
**FREE tickets will be available beginning Thursday, August 28th to "reserve" a spot for this event, as seating will be limited. Tickets can be requested in-person from the Reference Desk, at Decatur Public Library. Limit of two tickets per individual. As attendance is expected to be high, we recommend coming early to secure the best seats, even with tickets in hand.
Ellen Hopkins is the award-winning author of fourteen NY Times bestselling young adult novels-in-verse, two middle grade novels-in-verse, and four novels for adult readers. She currently holds the not so enviable title of "Most Banned Author in the US."
