Event Details

Our nation's founding was no small task and it's building is attributed to many. This program focuses on the often forgotten, but equally important stories of the Black Revolutionaries who were seeking liberty, freedom, and representation in the halls of our nation's legislation. Meet some of the men and women who fought, died, spied, wrote, argued, sailed and labored for the American Revolution.

This Illustrated Lecture was commissioned by the Springfield and central Illinois African American History Museum. Ms. Keyes has been presenting and lecturing on historic topics for almost twenty years.
